Opal S. McComas, 82, of Milton, W.Va.,
Opal S. McComas, 82, of Milton, W.Va., passed away Sunday, September 28, 2008, in St.. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, by the Pastor Justin Moran. Burial in Union Ridge Cemetery, Glenwood, W.Va.
Opal was born May 22, 1926, in Glenwood, W.Va., a daughter of the late Edgar Benton and Ona Holley Starkey. She worked at Sylvania Plant and the Perry-Norvell Shoe Factory for many years and was a retired cook and caregiver from Green Acres Regional Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. McComas; one son, Dennis Wayne McComas and one grandson, Billy Cobb. She attended Glenwood Methodist Church and Rock of Ages Baptist years ago and was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church and the Cecil Underwood Senior Citizens Center.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Sue and Charlie Cobb of Milton and Patty Holley of Proctorville, Ohio; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney and Jenine McComas of Fort Worth, Texas and Mike and Brenda McComas of Glenwood; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, three great great-grandchildren, several special sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and a host of special friends and neighbors.
