DENVER JOE ADKINS
Denver Joe Adkins, 57, of West Hamlin, W.Va., husband of Betty Egnor Adkins, died June 6 at home. He was a retired farmer.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 9 at Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin, W.Va.; burial at Goldsbury Cemetery, Sias, W.Va.
HERBERT ADKINS
Herbert Adkins, 81, of Branchland, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 4, 2010. He was born Nov. 7, 1928, in Logan, W.Va., a son of the late Walter and Maudie Adkins.
He was retired from Conners Steel and was a member of Bethlehem United Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Juanita Adkins Porter; four brothers, Orville Adkins, Arnold Adkins, Arthur Adkins and an infant brother, Garland Adkins; and one grandson, Stacey Lee Adkins.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Zeda Lester Adkins; four sons, Garland Adkins and his wife, Donna of Branchland, W.Va., Thurman Adkins and his wife, Kathy of Barboursville, David Michael Adkins and his wife, Gail of Branchland, W.Va., and Terry Adkins and his wife, Andrea of Branchland; grandchildren, Andy Adkins, Bryan Adkins, Sandra Adkins, Amanda Adkins, Natalie (Adkins) Karle, Michael Adkins and Leslie Adkins; great-grandchildren, Ryan Nicholas Adkins, Gabriella Brooklyn Karle, Maximus Michael Karle, with a new great-grandchild expected in September.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, June 7, 2010, at Bethlehem United Baptist Church by the Rev. Vernon Perry, Rev. A. J. Perry and Rev. Russell Donahue. Burial followed in Marion Adkins Cemetery, Branchland, W.Va.
Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, assisted the Adkins family.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Herb's caregiver, Cassie, for all her support and help.
HAZEL ANNICE BUNN
Hazel Annice Bunn, 94 of Barboursville, W.Va., passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2010, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, W.Va.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, June 10, 2010, at Cross Roads United Methodist Church, Huntington, with Rev. David Cartwright and Rev. Bill DeMoss officiating. Burial followed in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Huntington.
She was born April 15, 1916 in Cabell County, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Carl S. and Lula Crook Blankenship.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin W. Bunn, in 1981. She is preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Singer and Mary Virginia Blankenship; two brothers, Mitch and Bill Blankenship.
She is survived by three daughters, Donna Bunn (Don) DeBord of Huntington, Karen Bunn (Robert) Williams of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Carla Bunn of Huntington; one son, Gregory K. (Brenda) Bunn of Huntington; two sisters, Mildred Asbury of Barboursville and JoAnn Booth of South Point, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, Elizabeth Carter of Lawrenceville, Ga., Theresa Hickman of Spencer, W.Va., Dr. Joseph DeBord of Davidson, N.C., David DeBord of Aurora, Ohio, Scott Williams of Westchester, Ohio, Col. Mark Williams of Springboro, Ohio, Todd Williams of Louisville, Ky., Brandon Bunn of Huntington, Whitney Stead of Barboursville, Michael Bunn of Huntington; 20 great-grandchildren and was preceded in death by one great-grandchild, Michael DeBord. She is also survived by four great- great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and a member Cross Roads United Methodist Church.
Henson Mortuary, Barboursville, assisted the family.

YANCEY EDWARD BURNS II
Yancey Edward Burns II of Culloden was born Sept. 22, 1947, and passed away June 6, 2010, at the age of 62 years, 8 months and 15 days.
He was the son of Ella Hazel Salmons Burns of Culloden and the late Yancey Edward Burns I.
Yancey was a graduate of St. Albans High School, attended the University of Charleston and graduated from Marshall University with a BA in 1970 and an MA in 1976.
He also served as an officer in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a retired teacher and musician.
In addition to his mother, Yancey is survived by his only child and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Yancey William Burns, Esq., of Washington, D.C.; and his favorite aunts, Helen Hauldren of Hamlin and Brenda Richardson of Culloden.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 10, at Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin, with Mark Terry officiating. Interment followed in Burns Peaceful Valley Cemetery, Coon Creek, Culloden, with military graveside rites by American Legion Post 111, Hamlin.
IRENEE GROLEAU
Irenee Groleau, 74, of Culloden, husband of Daisy Bias Groleau, died May 8. Memorial services were held Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Ascension Church, Hurricane. Mr. Groleau donated his remains to the Marshall University School of Medicine.
DALE W. HARDING
Dale W. Harding, 64, of Milton, W.Va., passed away April 26, 2010, at his residence. A memorial service was conducted Friday, June 11, 2010, at Forest Memorial Park Mausoleum, Milton, with Monsignor Lawrence Luciana officiating.
Dale was born March 16, 1946, in Charleston, W.Va., a son of the late Ivan Harding and Edith Hanshaw Harding. He served in the United States Air Force.
He is survived by two sons, Jeff Harding and Darin Harding; grandchildren Danielle Kimberly Harding and Scotty Harding.
Military graveside services were conducted by American Legion Post 139, Milton.
Wallace Funeral Home, Milton assisted the family with arrangements.
MARY B. HUFFMAN
Mary B. Huffman, 80, of Milton, passed away at home June 1, 2010.
She was born Feb. 23, 1930, in Kanawha County, W.Va., a daughter of the late General and Tressie Hackney. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred; son, Johnny; brothers, Silas, Paul and John Hackney; sisters, Rhoda Shirkey and Cindy Haynes.
She is survived by her children, Don Huffman and his wife Berta of Idaho City, Idaho, and Debbie Huffman of Milton, W.Va.; three grandsons, Shane of Columbus, Ohio, Donald of Boise, Idaho, and TJ of Live Oak, Calif.; two granddaughters, Janelle (Joe) Corona of Nampa, Idaho, and Jenny of Idaho; four great-grandchildren, Alexia, Roberto, Isabella Corona of Nampa, Idaho, and Noah of Idaho.
Mary was a loving wife and mother. She attended the previous Faith Gospel Lighthouse and sang in various churches in Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, June 4, 2010, at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, with Rev. Wendell Shull officiating and singing by Randy and Leeann Black. Entombment followed in Forest Memorial Park, Milton.

ROSE MARY KOONTZ
Rose Mary Koontz, 70, of Huntington, W.Va., passed away Thursday, June 3, 2010, in St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, June 6, 2010, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, with the Rev. Bennie Dean officiating. Burial followed in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville.
She was born March 22, 1940, in Huntington, W.Va., a daughter of the late William and Sarah Marie Day Cremeans. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Garry David Koontz; infant granddaughter, Madison; and a brother-in-law, Ralph Boggs.
Mrs. Koontz was retired from St. Mary's Medical Center after 26 years of employment as a labor and delivery nurse.
She is survived by two sons, David Koontz and his wife Angie, and John Koontz; two daughters, Victoria Koontz and Namie Stump; eight grandchildren, Courtney, Nathaniel, Cara, Alyssa, Brett, Bethany, Austin and Caley; one great-grandchild, Nevaeh; one sister, Sari Ada Boggs; and one brother, William Herman Cremeans and his wife Sandra.

IVAN F. LAMBERT
Ivan F. Lambert, 70, of Glenwood, W.Va., passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010, in Hospice House of Huntington.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, June 4, 2010, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, with the Rev. Mitchell Webb officiating. Burial followed in Pete Meadows Cemetery, Glenwood, W.Va.
He was born Sept. 13, 1939, in Glenwood, son of the late Lawrence O. and Dorothy V. Barker Lambert. He was also preceded in death by a nephew, Chris Sijtsma.
Mr. Lambert was retired from Special Metals, Huntington.
He is survived by one son, Ivan S. Lambert of Glenwood, W.Va.; two daughters, Tina D. Cremeans and Shana L. Lambert, both of Lesage, W.Va.; two grandsons, Brian Wilson and Nathan Johnson, both of Huntington; one sister, Sharon Sijtsma and her husband, John of Wiley Ford, W.Va.; and two great-grandchildren, Ayla and Elijah Wilson.

REV. JAMES B. LEGG
Rev. James B. Legg, 94, of Bancroft, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday June 8, 2010.
James was a lifelong resident of Bancroft.
He was a retired Postmaster of Bancroft Post Office, with over 13 years of service.
He was a former employee of Monsanto Corporation.
He was ordained as a Baptist minister in April, 1949, and was Pastor at churches in Putnam, Cabell, Wayne and Kanawha counties. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church in Red House, W.Va.
James also served in the European theater during World War II, receiving the Purple Heart.
He was also a bass singer with many quartets in the Kanawha Valley. His service to the Lord was very important to him.
James was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Sibyl; sisters Annetta Legg and Louise Goff, and Tessie M. Farley; brother Andrew E. Legg; and great-grandson Derik Legg.
James is survived by two daughters, Genette "Kay" and husband "Chick" Noffsinger of Poca, W.Va., and Sharon E. and husband James "Pungun" Garrison of Bancroft; five sons, William L. "Butch" and wife Sue Legg of Poca, Richard W. and wife Martha Legg of Dallas Texas, Rev. James M. and wife Pam Legg of Cross Lanes, W.Va., Gary B. and wife Pixie of Winfield, W.Va., and Barry B. and wife Rhonda of Bancroft; sister Joan Cook of Orlando, Fla., and brother Tennyson E. Legg of Dallas Texas; 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, two great- great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
A tribute to the life of James B. Legg was held Friday, June 11, 2010, at Riverside Baptist Church, Red House, with Rev. Mike Hanna officiating. Entombment followed at Haven of Rest Memory Gardens, Red House.

CLARK E. MADDEN
Clark E. Madden, of Hamlin, W.Va., was born on Dec. 13, 1925, and passed away on June 2, 2010, at Putnam Care and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 84 years, 5 months and 20 days old.
He was the son of the late W.R. "Bill" and Merle L. King Madden, and was a U.S. Army Veteran and a WWII P.O.W. Clark was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W., D.A.V., Masonic Lodge No. 79 A.F. & A.M., Hamlin, W.Va., 32° Scottish Rite and Hamlin Baptist Church.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Juanita M. Hinkle Madden; one daughter, Sue Lynn Madden; one sister, Helen Madden McCallister; one grandson, Jason Paul Madden; and one granddaughter, Erica Suzanne Madden.
He is survived by his children, Charles Edward Madden, Carolyn Sue Madden Perry, Steven Paul Madden, R.C. "Brett" Madden and Elizabeth Anne Madden Ignatious; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin, W.Va., with Dr. Jerry Rose officiating. Interment followed at Lincoln Memorial Park, Hamlin, W.Va., with Masonic graveside rites and Military graveside rites by American Legion Post No. 111, Hamlin, W.Va.
LEVA JEAN MILLER
Leva Jean Miller, 75, of Hurricane passed away June 5, 2010, at Thomas Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
She was a lifelong member of Laywell Church of Christ and had been employed by Putnam County Bank and Bank of Nitro.
She is survived by her husband, Harley; daughter Lynn Hegeman of Rutherfordton, N.C.; sons, Michael Miller of Christiansburg, Va., Anthony Miller of Durham, N.C., and Brian Miller of Hurricane; two brothers, Carl and Denzil Thomasson; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; and a host of family and friends.
Services were held Friday, June 11, at Laywell Church of Christ with Wade Miller officiating. Burial followed in Sycamore Cemetery.

Michael George Moore, 65, of Ona, W.Va., passed away Friday, June 4, 2010, at St. Mary's Medical Center.

Burial followed in Crook Cemetery, Huntington, W.Va.
He was born Nov. 29, 1944, in Huntington, W.Va., a son of the late Bernard Wesley and Grace Rader Moore.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Grace Elizabeth Evans and Janet Yvonne Gibson; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Albert and Red Brinegar of Huntington.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Brinegar Moore; one son and daughter-in-law, Gregory Scott and Mary Melissa Moore of Manassas, Va.; one sister and brother-in-law, Linda Gail and Montie Jenkins of Proctorville, Ohio; two brothers, Jack Wesley Moore of South Point, Ohio, and Newton Melroy Moore of Huntington; one grandson, Ryan Scott Moore.
He was a member of the Crescent Lodge No. 32 A.F. & A.M. of Kenova and a veteran of the United States Army.

Donald Ray Pack, 75, of Barboursville, W.Va., passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at his residence.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by the Rev. Phil Wilson.
He was born Nov. 21, 1934 in Logan County, W.Va., a son of the late Arthur and Minnie Chafin Pack.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Joan Radcliffe Pack; one son, Steve Blake Pack of Sylva, N.C.; several cousins and his wiener dog, "Katy."

PHILIP TERRY ROBINETTE
Philip Terry Robinette, 61, of Salt Rock, W.Va., passed away Friday, June 4, 2010, at Cabell-Huntington Hospital.
He was born Sept. 23, 1948, and owned his own business as a mechanic. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence N. Robinette, and a son, Michael C. Robinette.
He is survived by his mother, Juanita Donall Robinette; a son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Audrey Robinette; a stepson, Rod Harris; grandchildren, Haley and Caden Robinette; a sister and brother-in-law, Anita and Ronald Frye; and a nephew, Mathew Frye.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 6, 2010, at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, W.Va., with Hayes Ellis officiating.
Burial followed at Sanders Cemetery, Branchland, W.Va.

Imajean Vance, 64, of Branchland, wife of Charlie J. Vance, died Saturday, June 5, 2010 at home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 8 at Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville. Burial followed at John Wesley Nelson Cemetery, Ranger.

Paul Wesley Yates, 75, of Milton, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at his residence.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, June 10, 2010, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, with Pastor Carl Merritt officiating.
Entombment followed in Forest Memorial Park, Milton.
He was born September 26, 1934, in Milton, a son of the late Homer and Sophia Elliott Yates. He was also preceded in death by one grandson, Travis Yates; two sisters and one brother.
Mr. Yates was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, Milton.
He is survived by his wife, Sybilla Jean Morrison Yates; three sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny and Brenda Yates, Ronnie and Janet Yates and Terry and Sharon Yates, all of Milton; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Dwaine Estep of Chester, Va.; one sister, Dortha Adams of Milton; nine grandchildren, Josh Yates, Amie Foster, Jason Estep, Paul Estep, Kevin Keaton, Greg Keaton, Krista Whitt, Ben Sherman and Eric Sherman and 12 great -grandchildren.
