JUANITA H. BLACK
Juanita H. Black, 88, of Barboursville, W.Va., passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2010. She was born February 2, 1922, in Cabell County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Mander and Gladys Adkins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Black; a son, William Black; a sister, Violet Nibert; two brothers, Harry and Rudy Adkins.
She is survived by a daughter, Judy (Phillip) Ranson; two sons, Steve (Lavonna) and Rodney Black; and one daughter-in-law, Gayle Black.
Other survivors include four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, July 23, 2010, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville. Burial followed at Union Ridge Cemetery, Mason County.
JARELL CASS BLEDSOE
Jarell Cass Bledsoe, 75, of Barboursville, W.Va., passed away July 14, 2010. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, July 17, 2010, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Paul Meadows and Pastor Chad Clark. Burial followed in Templeton Cemetery, Milton, W.Va.
He was born October 13, 1934, in Cabell County, W.Va., a son of the late Bert Bledsoe and Elizabeth Estep Bledsoe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Robby Lucas.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Hayes Bledsoe; two daughters, Kelly Woodard (Tracy), and Theresa Sweat (Roger Alford); one son, Chadd Bledsoe (Angela); two sisters, Mildred Leiderman and Margie Racer (Mike); two brothers, David Bledsoe and Bobby Bledsoe (Judy); two sisters-in-law, Ora Bledsoe and Collette Bledsoe; five grandsons; one granddaughter; five great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, assisted the Bledsoe family.
ROBERT LAN CHAPMAN
Robert Lan Chapman, 69, of Salt Rock, W.Va., died Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at home. He was born August 2, 1940, at Branchland, W.Va., a son of the late Lan Roy and Blanche Gertrude Cox Chapman.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Velma Davis Chapman; daughter Kimberly Collins; son Robert Dwayne Chapman; grandchildren Kourtni Collins, Beth Foster, Daniel Foster and Steven Foster, Kara Clagg, Hollie Clagg and Chelsea Clagg; great-grandchildren Alex Foster, Clay Foster, Gabriel Foster and Kaylee Foster; sister-in-law Patricia Mills; daughters-in-law Vicky Foster and Amanda Clagg.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 16, 2010, at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, W.Va. Burial followed in Johnson Cemetery, West Hamlin, W.Va.
DAVID ALLEN CLAGG
David Allen Clagg, 71, of Lesage, W.Va., went to be with the Lord July 15, 2010. Dave was retired from Owens-Illinois with 35 years of service. He served in the United States Army. Dave attended Jefferson Avenue Church of God.
He was born December 1, 1938, in Milton, W.Va., a son of the late Katherine Elizabeth Clagg. Dave was raised by his grandparents, the late Walter and Della Clagg, and is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Mary Frances Starkey Clagg; one son, Brent and his wife Sherry Clagg; one daughter, Paula and her husband Rodney Cremeans; four grandchildren, Steven and Drake Clagg, Courtney and Lindsey Cremeans; two great-grandchildren, Laynah Clagg and Dakota Scarberry; sisters-in-law Phyllis Spurlock and Carolyn (Ronnie) Nicholson; brothers Harold, Alvie, Ivan (Sadie) Clagg; sister Alma (Max) Cooper; special cousins Oval (Suzanne) Clagg, Rod (Linda) Clagg, the late Delbert (Sharon) Clagg; and many nieces, nephews and friends that will miss him greatly.
He was preceded in death by brothers Donald and Ernest Clagg and brother-in-law Elwood Spurlock Jr.
The family would like to offer special thanks to Hospice, VA, St. Mary's Oncology, Dr. Kimmey and Scott for his tender care. Funeral services were conducted Monday, July 19, 2010, at the Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, by Rev. Paul Farley and Pastor Greg Tomlinson. Burial followed in Union Ridge Cemetery.

TAMMY RENEE HOLDER
Tammy Renee Holder, 40, of Advance, North Carolina, passed away Monday, July 19, 2010. Funeral services were conducted Friday, July 23, 2010, at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, W.Va., with Pastor Jim Franklin officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Milton.
Tammy was born December 21, 1969, a daughter of Frank Conn and Shonet Spencer Holley. She is also survived by her step-father, Larry Holley and step-mother Karen Conn.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Donald Holder; two daughters, Ashton Fernatt and Shawnay Kinder; two sons, Nicholas Michael Holder and Jaydon Michael Ray Holder; two grandchildren, Braiden Fernatt and Kaylee Fernatt; four step-sisters, Jeana Stonestreet, Bethany Tolliver, Melissa Carver and Jennifer Ross; step-brother David Ross; mother-in-law and father-in-law Tommie and Wayne Loggins; father-in-law and mother-in-law Ray and Dawn Holder; maternal grandparents Jim and Joe Kilburm; two sister-in-laws, LeeAnn Keen and Katie Holder and a host of other friends and family.
Tammy is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Mike and Mary Conn; one grandson, Aydin Kinder; and one aunt, Cindy Hudnall. Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, assisted the family.

LENA LUCILLE "LOU" HOOD
Lena Lucille "Lou" Hood, 95 of Huntington, WV died Sunday, July 18, 2010 at the Emogene Dolin Hospice House. Funeral services were held on Wednesday at Beard Mortuary with Rev. Keith Leap. Burial followed on Thursday at Shinnston Masonic Cemetery, Shinnston, WV.
She was born July 2, 1915 in Folsom, WV a daughter of the late Broze and Catherine Ashcraft Starkey. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, James Robert Hood, two sisters, Helen Ashcraft and Pauline Bissett and two brothers, Rutherford and William Starkey.
She was a faithful member of the former Highlawn United Methodist Church now Community of Grace where she taught Sunday school for over 16 years and was a member of the Mary Martha Circle. She was also a member the O.E.S. Chapter 77 and the women's auxiliary of the VFW Post 9738.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jay Robert "Bob" Hood, a son and daughter-in-law, Gary E. and Catherine Hood of Huntington; two grandchildren, James Michael Hood of Lake Tahoe, CA and Catherine "Katie" Hood of San Francisco, CA; a sister, Violet Hayhurst of Clarksburg, WV and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

MARY LOUISE HUNT
Mary Louise Hunt, 88, of South Point, OH, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2010 in Cabell-Huntington hospital. Graveside services were held Monday, July 19, 2010 at Woodmere Memorial Park Abbey of Remembrance, Huntington, WV with the Rev. Loren Wilson officiating. She was born January 16, 1922 in Huntington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Hunt.
Mrs. Hunt was an avid bowler, having participated in numerous leagues throughout the tri-state for several years.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Chester W. and Trudy Hein of Holley, NY; two grandchildren, Douglas Hein and his wife, Lisa and Brian Hein and his wife, Wendy, all of Holley, NY; five great grandchildren, Gina, David, Mason, Thomas and Steven; and her lifelong friend, Bonnie Sexton of South Point, OH.

Infant Aydin Briar Kinder, son of Jeremy and Shawnay Holder Kinder of Milton, W.Va., passed away Friday, July 16, 2010.
Graveside services were conducted Sunday, July 18, 2010, at White Chapel Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Barboursville, W.Va., by Rev. Chuck Elkins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, George and Ruth Kinder.
Also surviving are maternal grandparents Donald and Tammy Holder; maternal great-grandmother Shonet Holley; uncles Nick and Jaydon Holder; aunts Caitlin Holder, Asgton Fernatt, Robin Woodall and Beth Spencer, and a host of relatives and friends.
Mommy and Daddy will love you forever.

FRANCES L. LEWIS
Frances L. Lewis, 81, of Hurricane passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2010, in the Emogene Dolan Hospice House after a long illness.
She was a hairdresser for over 30 years, owner of Fran's Beauty Shop and the original founder of Midway Cloggers. She attended Forrest Burdette United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chilton Lewis; son, Tim; brother, Jim Clark; and granddaughter, Angie Lewis Unik.
Surviving are a son, Jim Lewis of Scott Depot; daughters, Brenda McDaniel and Cathy Hanson, both of Culloden; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mildred Blake of Milton, Thelma Carter of Hurricane and Janice Bills of South Point, Ohio.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 23, at Allen Funeral Home, Hurricane. Burial followed in Milton Cemetery.

LIONEL R. MEES
Lionel R. Mees, 72, of Milton, W.Va., went to be with the Lord Friday, July 16, 2010, in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. He was born August 7, 1937, to the late Wendell Mees and Anis Clagg Mees of Milton.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, W.Va., with Rev. Daniel Beaver officiating. Burial followed in Martin Cemetery, Culloden, W.Va.
Lionel graduated from Hurricane High School in the class of 1954. He was retired from Greif Brothers. He was a former pastor of Central Big Creek Missionary Baptist Church near Hamlin, W.Va.
Survivors are his wife of 51 years, Donna Cremeens Mees; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and Simon Morrison of Milton, W.Va., Gail and James Enochs of Salt Rock, W.Va., and Amy and Scott Scragg of Culloden, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Joshua Morrison and fiancee' Jessica Stanley of Milton, W.Va., Zachary and wife Dawn Morrison of Oxford, Pa., Erin Enochs of Salt Rock, W.Va., Tyranda and Isaac Scragg of Culloden, W.Va.; one sister-in-law, Doris Hensley of Milton, W.Va.; three nieces and several cousins.

C. RICHARD MOHR
C. Richard Mohr, 75, of Milton, W.Va., passed away July 14, 2010, at his residence. He was born June 1, 1935, in Milton, a son of the late Carl Scott and Nella Mae Hicks Mohr.
Richard was Vice President and Controller for ELMAC, President of Omni Muffler, a lifetime member of Milton Baptist Church, financial consultant for many local businesses, Treasurer for the Cabell-Huntington Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary, and a member of the Milton Lions Club.
He was an avid fisherman, loved boating and traveling.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, James R. Mohr and his aunt, Sylvia Cox.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Charlotte Perry Mohr; two daughters, Tracy Garrett and her husband Michael Hughes, and Linda Owen and her husband Scott, all of Columbus, Ohio; one son, W. Scott Mohr of Milton; five grandchildren, Jessica Garrett, Scotty Owen, Gaige, Perry and Tavern Mohr, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, July 17, 2010, at the Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, by Pastor Tracy Mills and Pastor Brad Toney. Burial followed in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, W.Va.

"DICK" THOMPSON
Richard Clay "Dick" Thompson, 71, of Ona, W.Va., husband of Mary Lou Cooper Thompson, was reunited with his son Friday, July 16, 2010, from St. Mary's Medical Center.
A time of memory service was held Monday, July 19, 2010, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, W.Va., with Steve Hinkle officiating. Additional memory thoughts were given by Jim Hanna, Roger Dailey, Tom Shaffer and Aaron Hanna. At the conclusion, a procession travelled to Bexfield Cemetery on Barkers Ridge for a graveside service.
He was born August 26, 1938, in Ona, Cabell County, W.Va., a son of the late Burl and Maudie Hughes Thompson. Others preceding him in death were a son, Raymond Lee Thompson; a sister, JoAnn Jefferson; and two brothers, Jerry Thompson and Raymond "Bob" Thompson.
Richard was a member of Barker Ridge United Baptist Church, worked as a truck driver for Southern States for 37 years, and retired as supervisor over the warehouse. After retirement, he worked as a maintenance man for Alpha Xi Delta Sorority.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Steve Williams of Ona, W.Va.; a sister, Judy Lawhon of Glenwood, W.Va.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Imogene Thompson, and Bud and Carolyn Thompson, all of Ona, W.Va.; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gary and Pat Cooper of Bean Station, Tenn., and John and Sue Mauck of Lesage, W.Va.; and two very special men whom he loved like sons, David McComas of Ashton, W.Va., and Kevin McComas of Lesage, W.Va.
A thank you from the family goes out to Vickie Hemlepp and staff at St. Mary's Medical Center, and a very special thank you to Dr. Gerrit Kimmey, Anna, Janet, Kim, Dixie, and the oncology staff at HIMG.
